Nia Jam: Honoring International Women’s Day

  • Jewish For Good at the Levin JCC 1937 West Cornwallis Road Durham, NC, 27705 United States (map)

A Celebration of Yin Wisdom, Embodied Strength, and Collective Healing

Join five of our Triangle Nia teachers - Haven, Dorita, Holly, Caroline and Pamela - as they lead a soulful Nia Jam in honor of International Women’s Day, where movement becomes medicine and the body becomes a sanctuary for healing, balance, and remembrance.

This jam is devoted to awakening the soft power and quiet strength of yin energy—the receptive, intuitive, and nurturing force that brings harmony to the intensity and drive of yang. Through guided and free-form Nia movement, we will explore how gentleness can be powerful, how softness can hold immense strength, and how slowing down can restore what has been overworked and overwhelmed.

As we move together, we invite the feminine energy of love, compassion, and presence to flow through us—supporting the healing of collective and personal trauma held in the body. This is a space to listen deeply, to honor inner wisdom, and to reconnect with the rhythms that sustain life.

This Nia Jam is:

  • A safe and inclusive container for embodied expression

  • An invitation to restore balance between effort and ease

  • A celebration of feminine wisdom in all its forms

  • A collective intention to heal through connection, breath, and movement

Come as you are.

Move with intention.

Leave nourished, grounded, and gently empowered.

✨ All bodies, all genders, and all levels of experience are welcome.

Together, we rise through softness, and we heal through love. ✨
